We stopped on Aug 30th and had brunch at Carribean Jacks, cuz we do love breakfast
and have had great meals at Caribbean Jacks on previous visits.

The location is welcoming and as much as I love champagne for brunch — I can get used to never ending any-kinda-punch.

The location is welcoming and as much as I love champagne for brunch — I can get used to never ending rum punch.

There were tasty salads, colorful tables and great smells.

And a salad, but I never eat salads at brunches…. MEAT… I eat lots of meat

And really look at his — how could anyone walk by and not have their mouth watering…..and really, the horseradish sauce was sooo good !!
It was the horseradish that you get in really good restaurants….. my sinuses loved it !!

Seafood — we had lots of shrimp and salmon…..

Anyone — who would have loved a normal breakfast — can have omelets and pancakes, bacon, sausage, ham etc…..

The scenery here is awesome and relaxing and perfect for a peaceful morning. It was actually a bit romantic….maybe that was the rum punch talking.

But really, great food, I think we spent $40 + tip.
And a view like this — how perfect can a Sunday morning be ??
We recommend the Caribean Jacks brunch — but unfortunatley — they only have it for summer…..
We were happy to be able to enjoy it once….

Difficult – Difficult listen. Painful, slow, dragging… I usually do not give up and listen thru to the bitter end — but I just could not get passed disc 4. Brother and sister and home to take care of old-sick-crabby father…. sister has issues – brother has issues and everyone spends all day long beating around the bush.
Son says “gad-damn-it” and father goes on and on and on and makes a federal case out of sone being disrespectful….
Skip this one…… unless you have been really bad and believe that you need to be tortured….

Pillars of the Earth by Tom Follett….
This is a 30 disc audio book and is about a mason in the 12th century building a cathedral…
I am on disk 19 — and the story has held my attention…
Strong recommend…..

This morning I opened up my e-mail and found my favorite newsletter waiting for me.

I receive several newsletters each month, but I really look forward to the “The Castle Commentary” published by Jerry Bellairs of The Castle Group Realty. Jerry is a numbers kinda of guy — you can tell he spent years in the corporate world analyzing projections and he has brought that into real estate and it adds an interesting twist on trends in real estate for the Daytona Beach Area.
For instance Jerry looks at
- The monthly trends of buyers in the 300,00 range for single family homes in Daytona Beach
- The monthly numbers of buyers/price band
- The number of single family homes on the market in Daytona Beach
- Interest rate trends of mortgages.
- The number of condos on the market in Daytona Beach Florida
If you pay attention to real estate and trends in real estate, this is a great newsletter to subscribe to..

Who said that Daytona Beach does not draw big names??
Seems that Elvis played the Peabody Theater on Aug 9, 1956. I found this page at Elvis Presley Music that has some great Elvis Pix from the show….

You can see the beach across the street–
