I really have to apologize, I was looking thru some pics that I took in Feb 2010, and I realized that I never posted them here…
We stopped at one of the coolest Italian restaurants …right in New Symrna Beach Florida..called ” The Garlic”..
Romantic, outdoorsy atmosphere, since there was a tree growing in one of the dining rooms… v cool.

The restautrant had an open feel, perfect for a warm winter night..

An outdoor grill/smoker mesquite smelled wonderful !!

And garlic is hanging everywhere….

Old world whimsy type of decor

The earthen ware pattern is for sale — along with other pottery.

Specials are written on lasagna noodles…

Roasted corn, polenta and marscapone cheese ravioli…..mmmmm

Whimsy… again

Whimsy….

Cheesy….

Abondanza..

We had an appetizer….

Then dinner

Sorry about the angle…..hurts my eyes too…

Tortellini

Desserts…of course we had room…1 with 6 forks please…..

And our gracious host…the owner… of course everyone wants to know why this crazy woman is snapping pictures and not allowing anyone to touch their plates until their food has been photographed…
God love my husband, me has eaten so many cold meals…
I truly loved THE GARLIC, the decor is whimsy and fun, the artistic nature extends from atmoshere to the decor to the food. The owner came over to talk to us and he had been an opera singer/performer, and since my mother-in-law had performed at the Chicago Lyric opera for years, and years until she passed away (GRHS) he and my husband had much to talk about…
We have great Italian restaurants here in Berwyn and Cicero Illinois…. we truly loved the garlic and it has easily moved up into our top 5 for restaurants in the Daytona area…..
We LOVED IT !!

I get lots of questions about Ocean Walk Resort and location to various Daytona Beach locations:
such as: Peabody Auditorium and Ocean Center and Main Street and the BoardWalk….
Ocean Walk is at 300 N Atlantic Av, nestled between Hilton and Daytona Beach Regency….

This is an older arial photo – of which I could not afford to pay to commission, but has such great detail that I still continue to use it often… I love the perfect blue sky day when there is blue for miles…..even tho some changes have occurred….
Such as… Adams Mark is now Hitlon (circa 2005) and Ocean Walk Resort has completed construction on the north tower (circa 2004) Ocean Center has completed it’s expansion (circa 2008) Daytona Lagoon has been purchased and there is a kick-a** water park there…

So above we have the oceanview of these buildings… and this was taken sometime after 2004, but before 2006, because I recognize a few changes, as Ocean Walk North tower completed, Ocean Center expansion has not yet begun, the Boardwalk has not yet been extended to Ocean Walk property. You can see all of the oceanfront pooldeck, bandshell and OCean Park, which is in front of the Hilton..

Here is Ocean Walk from the walk over bridge, big white…

And the water view… from the north, you can see a few balconies that look over at Daytona Beach Regency….that is the pool deck for the Regency

this is a view of OCean Walk Shoppes when you are standing at the Bandshell

Ocean Walk at night

We are looking at the south tower from the street — as you can see there is 1 condo that has it’s balcony facing the street…. room numbers ending in 19

Not sure how this photo became so tipped, but you can see the street side balconies here — and the side view, these are the timeshare rooms that south tower owners have…
Here is the front of Ocean Walk Shoppes, the walk over bridge and the balconies for condos ending in 16-17-18 at Ocean Walk Resort

Ocean Walk Shoppes is really an open shopping center, with movies, ice cream, restaurants, shops…etc

Here is Hilton, and their outdoor plaza/ restaurant…we are just south of OCean Walk Shoppes and OCean Walk…..
