Hawaiian Inn Construction
Many people have had questions about the construction at the Hawaiian Inn…
Here are some answers for guests considering a stay.
There are actually 4 phases to construction.
If you remember the resort is shaped like a horseshoe facing the ocean with the north end having 4 condos that face the ocean and the south end has 10 condos that face the ocean.

Phase 1 — Is the flooring - this is completed
Phase 2 is the North end facing the ocean - balcony replacement - this is completed
Phase 3 is the south end facing the ocean - balcony replacement - this is completed
Phase 4 is the courtyatrd area around the pool - balcony replacement
Phase 1 & 2 Began::
In Sept 2008 - they closed down the ENTIRE south 1/2 of the resort and redid the concrete floors and they removed the 4 balconies facing the ocean on the north end and those were repoured - replaced. The flooring work was completed around March 2009 and the balcony work was completed in July 2009 and the north end was reopened.
The floors for the north 1/2 of the resort were started in Sept 2009 and completed in December 2009
Phase 3:: All rooms at the south end were closed May 2009 and the balconies were removed and replaced. This area reopened Feb 15th and we spent Feb 5-15th down at the Hawaiian Inn getting our condos ready to rent out — they needed flooring work - carpet work - paint and a good cleaning.
Phase 4 is not scheduled to start until Sept 1st, 2010 and will probably go for about 1 year.
They will be removing all balconies around the pool and replacing them - so new balconies, new doors and really - New Hawaiian Inn.
So::
Phase 1 — completed 12-09
Phase 2 — completed 07-09
Phase 3 — completed 02-10
Phase 4 — to begin Sept 2010 to be completed ??
The plan is to build a walk thru tunnel to the pool from the lobby to the pool and enclose the balconies that are being worked on. We have no further construction schedule at this time.
