Dancing on Daytona Beach
I came up on a few girls hanging out and doing their dance moves and some acrobatics in the sand.
During the NCAA Cheerleading week you have some fabulous athletes who are young, talented and in great shape – just hanging out and enjoying the sun and waves. The great thing about Daytona Beach – the same hard packed sand that made the beach great to race on and acheive the 200 + MPH records for speed … you know before there were paved roads, also makes a great place to run, workout, preform acrobatics and dance…
The beach is solidly packed, and very forgiving… and really turns everyone back into a kid for a while…
I had friends in school who could do this…. they are Rockettes now….
I saw an interview once who Alice Cooper’s wife donned this dance pose in the practice room during a back up dancer try-out… … it captured his attention.
This is pretty normal during the NCAA week.. Splits while standing – pyramids 3 people high – girls standing still one minute and the next jumping across the sand doing acrobatics worthy of an Olympic medal….
The feeling in the air – is fun…. everyone is having a good time, hanging out with their teammates and other friends who came to join them and having a great time.
Spring break still draws a crowd to Daytona every year.
No more wild spring break parties, just families and college kids enjoying some much needed sunshine after a long winter.
I just love relaxing on the beach – watching scenes like this, kids hanging out, having a good time and having fun.
Something about the sun, the waves and the sounds of the ocean that makes you want to dance..
And smile !!
A Special thanks to the girls who let me steal a moment with them…
Great Job !!
