I LOVE MIKES GALLEY !!! It's my favorite breakfast place in Daytona ...and it keeps getting better !! They used to be closed on Mondays - now they are open 7 days ! They used to be just South of Dunlawton - in a little oceanfront place with mismatched coffee mugs and a sloping floor, and you would happily wait for hours because it was always busy and you could never walk right in and get a seat and sometimes - you would get there and the pecan rolls would be gone...... Not these days - ... Read more »

Daytona Beach – The Cellar Restaurant
I love finding new great places to have dinner. I was down in Daytona in December and met up with my friend Tony and we trekked out to find something wonderful and different... and we found The Cellar Restaurant. Many write ups have been done about this place - I have to tell you the real reason I hadn't gone hunting for this place before is because its on Magnolia Street. I had never heard of Magnolia St, rarely bring my Garmin with and never think about the Cellar when I could ... Read more »

Gene’s Steak House
Gene's Steak House Not really in our usual travels in Daytona, Gene's Steak House is west of the Speedway on 92. I just happened to get a Coupon on Groupon and decided that we would give Gene's Steakhouse a call. My sister and I were in town right after the Daytona 500 and met up with my parents and we decided to try the place out. The restaurant is quaint, cozy and very welcoming. Kitchen is wide open right when you walk in - you can see and smell the steaks cooking and when ... Read more »

European Cafe & Schnitzel House
I love German Food -- Living in Chicago - we have a great variety of restaurants to choose from and I love German food, and Polish Food, and Czech food. There aren't very many old authentic type places such as these. I live near Berwyn Illinois -- they have some really excellent European restaurants. Unfortunately, my husband was raised on this faire and he does not vote for German or Polish or Czeck very often, so it was a real treat when he agreed to try this restaurant out. This is ... Mike’s Galley — Again….
So the last time we came to Daytona -- we got all dressed up and stumbled out to the little resort just past Dunlawton for Mike's Pecan Rolls..... and Mike's was gone. Place was empty, deserted, nothing but crumbs remained... Mike was gone...no forwarding address....front desk lady shrugging at me ....while I kinda stood there in a stuper trying to remember if I had the right place.... Yep, Mike's was gone -- packed up -- blew town -- no pecan rolls in sight... which really upset my good ... Read more »
