Daytona Beach Boardwalk
Walking along the Atlantic Ocean, from Main Street Pier to the south and extending to the edge of the Ocean Walk Proerty to the North is Daytona Beach’s BoardWalk. This is a gathering place for folks to enjoy concerts, strolling, sitting, and watching the ocean. My kids love the BoardWalk area, it has much to do and you never know what you will find happerning at the bandshell. There are some throwback moments as you walk along…. pay a quarter and see to the Bahamas …(not really)
Perfect place to sit and people watch or bird watch, or wave watch, or guy watch or whatever you are into……
Need a corny picture souvenir? Well you have come to the right place…. this is blackmail material for later folks
I am standing along the bandshell looking south towards the pier…
You can see this resort directly on the BoardWalk, this is the Daytona Beach Hilton…… a wonderful place to stay …or eat…..
Here is the historic bandhsell — it is made of coquina—- and they frequently have activities here, and live free performances. You will also have the cheerleaders here for NCAA Collegiate championships doing their thing right here at the bandshell.
This is the AMA – Daytona 200 Motorcycle monument.
We are at the northern end of the Boardwalk and this is Joyland Amusement Center. This is an arcade for all ages….
This is Mardi Gras Fun Center – another arcade, much for the kids to do out here.
Also Lisa’ gifts for the person who need the souvenir fix while visiting the beach…quick convenient – run up and grab a beach towel, tanning oil, any other item that may be needed for during a day at the beach.
These are the Daytona Beach speed records, they are inlaid into the walkway near the arcades on the Boardwalk.
there are about 30 of them all commemorating a speed record set on Daytona Beach. The entire history of the “Birthplace of Speed” is nicely laid out here for anyone that is interested, if you never look down, you will never know it is there.
We are now at the southern most spot — we are looking at the open lot soon to be developed… It has been rumored that something similar to Chicago’s Navy Pier may be buitl here, but in this economy, unfortunately no developers have stepped in to build or get permits for this location, for now it sits empyt — but I am fairly certain something good will be a-coming !!
This is the Bungee jump — I would love to comment, but I am entirely too freaking old for these things !!

Hey Bluzin’,
Just wanted you to know I lingered over these pics today, almost brought tears to my eyes, LOVE that place!! Everytime we go we get a little seafood platter on the Boardwalk at Joyland with a cold beer. Is only $6.99, fried shrimp, clams and scallops with fries, surprisingly good! We don’t go in to play the games anymore but do like sitting outside for our lunch. Have you tried one? Excellent quality of pics you took too. I have seen these before but enjoyed them again today, thanks for letting me go on vacation for a few minutes 🙂
Take care,
Punz aka Bonnie
Let me know if you get this please.
