I only watch TV if there is something good on HBO or a major catastrophe is occurring.
I only read the papers is there is a catastrophe is occurring or
I am waiting and I happen to find one that has been left behind and it is —FREE
I am quite content to be in my own little world, which includes, husband- children-dogs – cats – and laundry to do…. house to clean….
I do make an exception in these rare cases, these are the rare cases that come to mind::
” I am planning a trip to Daytona
” I am doing research for my Blog 😉

So in these rare events, I have been known to look up the Daytona Beach News Journaland search for what is needed.

There are several things that I find particularly useful in the online paper that I use when I am traveling to Daytona and I would like to share those with you::

Here is where you will find a list of “Live Entertainment” and there is sure to be something somewhere to entertain You – Your Children – Your Grandmother – Everyone!!!
There is usually a local area artist featured—
We found the Tattoo Bar and the Rhythm Sharks when we were there in May 07
Definitely give this section a look.

Performances by entertainers at local area theaters, museums etc…
Could include Karaoke, illusionists, comedians etc….
Definitely worth a look

Just because we are on vacation does not mean that we can allow all brain activity to cease to function…fill in the blanks, make up words – who cares…

Actually, when we are in town for the Daytona 500, My Mother keeps a close eye the paper, always cuts out our copy of the race schedule, driver’s position and race times.

Under Lifestyle, -The Lunch, Brunch & Supper Club Column
We get a restaurant review of somewhere unique and perhaps off the beaten path – as we all know that most treasures are found in those little out of the way spots. These places have managed to stay hidden and thrive because they are awesome!!!
The only negative that I have about this column is that there are only 6-8 previous columns available to view, this makes the column timely, but gives you just a small window of options. Do not despair, because I am going to try to accumulate a list so you have many to choose from….

The other 2(3) things that I get from the paper that are important to me…
” Sunrise Time so I can get up early enough to photograph the sunrise
” Sunset times, so I can plan dinner outside to coincide with sunset

” I also get the tide tables for hi & low tide times…
Because parking on the beach during low tide and coming back to get it at high tide can be a very ugly, ugly thing……..
