I love finding new great places to have dinner. I was down in Daytona in December and met up with my friend Tony and we trekked out to find something wonderful and different… and we found The Cellar Restaurant.
Many write ups have been done about this place – I have to tell you the real reason I hadn’t gone hunting for this place before is because its on Magnolia Street. I had never heard of Magnolia St, rarely bring my Garmin with and never think about the Cellar when I could google it to find it. Luckily my buddy Tony worked on Beach Street for years and knew exactly where to go. The Cellar is considered a 4 star restaurant, featuring Italian Cuisine. We loved the atmoshere…
Tony got started with Alici Marinati con Quattro Colore, made with radicchio, anchovies and heart of palm.
I had the polenta with sausage and mushrooms. It was excellent !!
for dinner Tony had Veal Scallopini, she gave this a big thumbs up !!
I had the gnocchi with Bolognese sauce, it was excellent – I am really a big pasta lover… if it has the txture of a noodle, I a gonna love it, no questions asked.
We had the double chocolate mousse for desert – wonderful!
Since we were ther before Christmas it was nicely decorated for the holidays.
Great old building with much character.
Loved the ceilings, loved the stained glass, loved the food – all 2 thumbs up !!
I loved the rules…. not sure whose rules…
My beautiful buddy Tony !!

I’ve been to Daytona a couple of times in 2013 and am likely to become a frequent visitor. I tend to stay in the airport area hotels, opposite Volusia (?) Mall.
Is The Cellar across the other side of town from here? Also, where do you think is the best place in town to eat?
I recognise those rules, I’ve seen them many times and they are not fair! (on us Guys)

The Cellar is at 220 Magnolia St, this will be just east of Ridgewood (US 1) 1 block south of International Speedway Blvd. I can’t pick a best place… If you love Italian foods, Garlic (New Symrna) , The Cellar and Rosselini’s get my vote. I also want to try another little Italian restaurant up on Granada….
If you want steaks – my list would be a bit different !!
Seafood ? that would be another list !!
Many good food locations by the mall…have you tried the little german place in Volusia County Mall ?? LOVE IT !!
Life is not fair Guy… sorry !!

The thing I like the most about staying hotels and resorts is the food and restaurants that they have there. I love tasting different cuisines every time I stay there on vacation
